Bronze medalist on uneven bars at the last edition of the World Gymnastics Championships, which finished earlier this month in Doha, Qatar, German Elisabeth Seitz failed to qualify for this apparatus final in Cottbus. She scored a 12.9, with 5.5 difficulty, and finished in 12nd position.

If Seitz had hit her routine, the final of this apparatus, scheduled for the next Saturday, would be even more interesting. Chinese Fan Yilin, two times World Champion on bars, is back to competition and gets 15,233, the highest score on this event, placing in first, overcoming reigning World Champion Nina Derwal by over 0.067 points.

Germany is going to be represented by Kim Bui. The other athletes qualified for this final are: Jiaqi Lyu (CHN), Kelly Simm (GBR), Daria Spiridonova (RUS), Diana Varinska (UKR) and Rebeca Andrade (BRA).

Uneven bars qualification results.
Qualification continues today with beam and floor for the women's and vault, parallel bars and horizontal bar for the men's.
